You are eligible for a passport renewal if ALL of the following conditions apply:

• Your passport is currently valid, or has expired within the last five years.
• Your passport is in your possession.
• Your passport is not damaged.
• Your passport was issued when you were age 16 or older.

You may request a passport renewal for any of the following reasons:

• Your passport is expired or will expire soon.
• Your passport is low on blank visa pages.
• You have legally changed your name, and your passport was issued more than one year ago.

You are eligible for a passport name change service if:

• Your current passport is valid, in your possession, and undamaged.
• You have legally changed your name since your passport was issued.
• You can submit your original proof of name change (i.e., marriage certificate, divorce decree, or court order).

If you meet one of the following criteria, you may request a second passport:

• You are a frequent traveler and need to obtain a visa stamp in your current valid 10-year passport while traveling abroad.
• You are traveling between politically sensitive countries.
